About The Artist

Hi! I’m Sophie Berner the designer and owner behind One Of A Tie.

My passion for a renewable practice and craftsmanship has stemmed from a lifetime of wandering around thrift stores and curated vintage shops. I gained most of my love for fashion as a young teenager at my first job working at a vintage boutique where I was introduced to the different eras of fashion and couture. I took that first seed of inspiration for clothing and pursued a fashion marketing degree at University. During my time at school I found a new love for jewelry and its expressive nature in individualism. By the time I graduated with a major in fashion marketing and a minor in jewelry design, I knew I wanted to combine my love for the thrift stores I grew up in, and the revelatory nature of dressing up. 

That idea became One of a Tie.

What started as a way for me to make personal gifts for friends and family became a way for me to create ways for people to express their individuality while still maintaining my love for giving old and forgotten things a new life.
